Inputs

We normalize to acres.
Use a representative crop category for a planning estimate.
This adjusts yield as a multiplier vs baseline.
If you can grow multiple cycles, scale up output.
Default: 0.30 lb per serving (roughly 1.5 cups leafy greens / mixed produce).
Used only to express a simple “people fed” estimate over 30 days.
Planning-level tool.
Outputs are estimates for proposals and comparisons. Local soil, climate, crop variety, and management can shift results.

How we estimate
- Crop baseline yield is a planning-level range converted to a single midpoint (lbs/acre/year).
- System multiplier adjusts yield vs baseline (e.g., intensive, container, spiral).
- Cycles per year scales total output where climate allows multiple cycles.
- Servings = total pounds ÷ serving size (lbs/serving).
- People fed (30 days) assumes servings are used as meals, using your meals/day input.
